Jesus calls us to show justice and mercy. And when we look at his life in the gospels, we see that rather than stepping into commendable acts of goodwill, he was constantly entering relationships—challenging and often unthinkable relationships in which he showed mercy and, in doing so, brought justice to dark spaces.

And in our own relationship with him, we find the same: a never-failing experience of justice and mercy that pours into our everyday moments with the power to overflow onto the world around us.
