Stewardship is more than just giving; it’s a way of life. Our heart is to cultivate a steward’s mindset in every believer, helping us recognize that all we have is a gift from God, entrusted to us for His purposes. When we see our resources through this lens, we experience the joy and freedom of using them in alignment with God’s greater plan.
Foundation
The Foundation of Stewardship
At the core of stewardship are three foundational truths that shape how we live and give:
God created everything.
The world and everything in it belongs to Him. (Genesis 1:1)
God owns everything.
What we have is not ours to possess but to manage according to His will. (1 Chronicles 29:11)
We are stewards for His glory.
Our calling is to manage the resources God has entrusted to us for His glory and purposes.
Stewardship is an act of faith and obedience, aligning our hearts with God’s greater mission, and using God-given resources for God-given purposes. When we embrace these truths, we move beyond obligation into a life of joyful generosity—trusting that God will always provide and that our faithfulness can make an eternal impact.

Why
God Cares About Stewardship
Money isn’t just a financial issue—it’s a heart issue. God, in His wisdom, knew that, left to our own devices, money would become our greatest rival for worship. It has the power to draw our hearts away from Him, which is why the Bible speaks about it so often. In fact, Scripture contains over 2,300 verses on money, possessions, and stewardship. Out of the 38 parables Jesus told, 16 directly addressed finances and how we are to manage what God has given us. Jesus even spoke more about money than faith and prayer combined because He understood how deeply it impacts our hearts and our relationship with God.
God Wants Our Hearts
When Jesus spoke about money, He wasn’t after people’s wealth—He was after their hearts. Time and time again, His teachings on finances weren’t just about how to handle money but about how money reveals the condition of our spiritual lives. Money is morally neutral, yet it will unveil our truest affections. And God wants us to prize Him as our greatest treasure. When He is our treasure, we will use the resources He has entrusted to us in a way that demonstrates that we trust Him. He knew that when we place our trust in wealth instead of Him, it leads us away from the abundant life He desires for us.
True transformation happens when we understand what God wants FOR us rather than simply thinking about what He asks from us. God wants us to receive His love, fully embracing the grace given through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for our sins. He wants us to recognize that everything we have already belongs to Him, freeing us from the false belief that our possessions determine our worth. And He calls us to be faithful stewards, trusting Him with what we’ve been given. When we are faithful and obedient, His blessings extend far beyond finances—our spiritual, relational, and emotional lives are transformed as well.
Pursuing the heart and mind of God leads to a life marked by:
- Faithfulness in how we steward resources
- Contentment with what we have
- Freedom from financial burdens
- Generosity toward others
- Peace in God’s provision
- Joy that isn’t tied to wealth
- Love that reflects God’s heart
- Wisdom in our decisions
Maintaining a Right Perspective on God’s Resources
God has given us everything we have, not for our own gain, but to steward wisely for His purposes. He owns it all, and we are simply stewards. When we embrace this truth, it shifts the way we handle our finances. As faithful stewards, we are called to:
- Earn diligently | Working with integrity and excellence
- Give generously | Honoring God and blessing others
- Save purposefully | Preparing wisely for the future
- Spend sensibly | Living within our means
- Borrow discerningly | Avoiding unnecessary debt and financial bondage
When we maintain the right perspective, we experience the faithfulness and freedom that come from aligning our finances with God’s design. Instead of being consumed by money’s power, we become free to trust in His provision, live generously, and walk in the peace and joy He desires for us.
Faithful stewardship isn’t about what God wants from us but what He wants for us. When we align our hearts with His, we experience a life of abundance, not in material wealth, but in the richness of knowing and following Him.

But when we allow worldly wisdom to guide our financial decisions, we can find ourselves entangled in spiritual, practical, and emotional struggles.

Finishing Faithfully: A Steward’s Retirement Journey
Retirement is more than a financial milestone—it is a new season of stewardship. This learning space explores biblical principles and practical considerations for preparing for and living faithfully in retirement, including stewarding your time and talents, planning for retirement income and rising costs, and understanding foundational investment concepts. No matter your age or stage of life, you’ll gain a biblical framework for managing God’s resources God’s way for God’s glory.
Financial Peace University (FPU) (10 weeks)

Journey of Generosity
Generosity is more than giving—it’s a transformed way of living. Our Journey of Generosity weekend experience brings small groups together for meaningful conversations about God’s heart for generosity and how we can live open-handed lives. Through storytelling, discussion, and reflection, this experience will encourage you to see giving not as an obligation but as an act of worship and trust. Sometimes, we need personalized support to navigate financial challenges. Our one-on-one financial coaching provides a confidential space to receive biblical financial wisdom, practical strategies, and encouragement tailored to your situation. Expanding Access to Better Employment
Financial struggles often go beyond budgeting—they can be tied to employment challenges and career roadblocks. Through our partnership with Jobs Partnership’s LifeWorks Training Program, we can connect you to resources to help individuals gain practical job skills, career coaching, and spiritual encouragement as they pursue meaningful employment.

Ways to Get Involved
We’re looking for faithful stewards who want to help others experience the joy and peace of biblical financial stewardship. Here are some ways you can make an impact:
- Financial Coach – Work one-on-one with individuals to help them navigate their financial challenges using biblical principles and practical wisdom.
- Facilitator – Lead a Financial Peace University or Compass group, helping participants engage with God’s plan for stewardship.
- Administrator – Assist with behind-the-scenes support, helping coordinate workshops, coaching sessions, and resources for participants.
