My passion for worship began at an early age. I grew up singing hymns in the pews of the small little Baptist churches where my Dad served as a part-time Worship Leader, and I couldn’t be more grateful for it. It was in those pews where I began to encounter God personally and see the beauty of God’s people gathered together to worship and enjoy Him.
In high school, my friends and I would get together to hang out, and inevitably, one of us would end up grabbing a guitar, and we’d spend hours just singing and worshiping together. No pretense, no performance, just an authentic zeal for the Lord wrapped up in child-like faith that spurred a community of high schoolers on in their walk with Jesus. My faith was set ablaze in those spaces, and I knew I wanted to spend my life cultivating moments like that wherever God would take me.
I began leading worship every chance I got. Student ministries, college ministries, Sunday gatherings, camps, conferences, retreats; if God put an opportunity in front of me, I wanted to be a part of it, and I have been doing that ever since. If you ask me, there aren’t a whole lot of things in this world better than seeing the people of God encounter Him together, and I’m blown away that I get to spend my life seeing that happen.
My wife Rachel and I met during those high school years where we bonded in those rooms of worship. We got married in 2008 and now have three amazing sons: Judah, Eli, and Micah. We are one of those rare families that are actually originally from Florida. After a brief two-year stint living in Austin, TX, my family and I moved back to Florida, where I joined the staff team here at Mosaic in 2015. I now get to serve as the Pastor of Worship here, where I have the incredible privilege of leading alongside some of the best men and women you’ll ever meet.
I absolutely love spending time with my family, whether that’s going on adventures together, dating my wife, or watching sports with my boys (Go Gators!). I also really enjoy playing golf, running on the trail, and dabbling with woodworking.
