A friend invited my family and I to Mosaic in 2010 and I remember our first Sunday like it was yesterday. My youngest child, Cooper, who suffered from separation anxiety was absolutely losing his mind when we tried to hand him off to kids ministry. If it wasn’t for two amazing volunteers being willing to safely peel him from my arms and patiently care for him so we could go to church, I honestly don’t know where our life would be today… We’ve been here ever since.
As a young man, I began to realize my passion for people and natural leanings toward leadership. I began a career in law enforcement here in Central Florida in 1998. Throughout my law enforcement career, I spent more than a decade in various leadership roles before retiring in 2016 to enter the corporate workforce. Hoping this would provide a better work-life balance for my family, I thought for sure that would be my final career move. But as promised in Proverbs 19:21, the Lord’s purpose prevailed over my plans and He graciously moved me into a full-time role here at Mosaic in 2020. I had been serving as a bi-vocational worship leader since 2011, but coming on staff full-time allowed me more time to serve our church. I still LOVE helping our church worship through music, but these days I spend more time helping our church thrive holistically through operations. But whether it’s from the stage, in the lobby, or outside of the walls of Mosaic, I consider loving and serving the Bride of Christ one of the greatest privileges of my life.
My wife Katie and I have been married for 20 years and we have 3 children (Dylan, Jayda, and Cooper). Outside of Mosaic, I enjoy dating my wife, playing golf, riding my bike, and rebounding the basketball for Cooper in our driveway. I am an Orlando native, proudly born and raised, and will likely never leave.
