Our focus countries are Ethiopia, South Africa, Guatemala. One of the reasons these countries are our focus countries is because we have a history and longevity of relationships in these places. We’ve been involved in Ethiopia since 2010, South Africa since 2013 and Guatemala since 2014. In each of these countries, we desire to see the Church strengthened and new churches planted. In each of these countries there is also a unique context of poverty and vulnerability that we desire to see undone and transformed by the Church. Two years ago, on Global Mission Sunday in 2021, we invited you, our church, into sponsoring vulnerable children and young adults in these three countries. We presented 6 partners (3 in Ethiopia, 2 in Guatemala, and 1 in South Africa). We had an ambition goal…400 Sponsorships! That Sunday, our church responded and we had 182 sponsors sign up with our 6 partners.
Most of those sponsors have faithfully continued their monthly support for the last two years. Today, our greatest need is for more Sponsors with our partners in Ethiopia. We have 152 vulnerable children in Ethiopia that need sponsorship. Our partner Love Made Visible needs 86 sponsors for the Operation Rescue Adwa Project. Our partner Children’s Hope Chest needs 66 sponsors for the Shone Gerbe Project. Both of these partners are working to see children and families holistically cared for and their communities transformed through empowerment and development.
We send short term Mission teams from Mosaic to strengthen and support our partnerships in our focus countries and with the workers who have been sent from Mosaic to serve long term in cross-cultural ministry. This is an opportunity for you to use your time, treasure and talent to invest in the advancement of God’s Kingdom and God’s Glory as the gates of hell are pushed back by our global partners.
In 2024, we are planning to send teams to Ethiopia, South Africa, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. We may add other trips as well.
