May we never neglect God’s command to care for the vulnerable in response to His care for us. This calling is wrapped up in Christ’s invitation to redeem unredeemed spaces in the world in which we live. When we step into foster care, adoption, efforts of poverty alleviation, or the work of ending human trafficking, we answer God’s invitation to bring the gospel to the brutality of the world in beautiful, tangible ways.
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
