The apostle Paul wrote the book of Ephesians circa A.D. while under house arrest in Rome. During this time, he also penned Colossians and Philemon.
In this letter to the church in Ephesus, Paul rests on two major themes: reconciliation and renewal. Christ has reconciled people from all nations to himself and to one another in his church. In Christ, people are renewed individually and called to participate with God in bringing renewal to all of creation.
