Worship Director
The Worship Director is tasked with coming alongside the Worship Pastor to bring about the implementation of the overall vision, direction and culture for the Worship Ministry of Mosaic Church. The Worship Director will lead the Worship Ministry staff team in fulfilling their designated roles and responsibilities. An intentional focus on volunteer engagement, leadership development, team empowerment and operational management will be necessary in order to succeed in this role.
Outcome of Position
- A Worship Ministry that is equipped and empowered to pursue the vision and values for ministry spearheaded by the Worship Pastor.
- A Worship staff that is effective, cohesive, and collaborative in their work and led towards embodying the Mosaic Staff Values.
- A team of volunteers that are resourced, supported, and engaged in serving Mosaic Church and leading its multiple contexts in excellent musical worship.
- Musical worship is led with excellence, humility and Spirit-dependance in a way that aligns under the worship philosophy set by the Worship Pastor – always aiming to exalt Christ and serve the church.
Primary Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain a close and consistent connection with the Worship Pastor to ensure a clear and unified vision for the Worship Ministry of Mosaic Church
- Strive to see the implementation of the overall vision, direction, and culture for the Worship Ministry of Mosaic Church in all ministry contexts, gatherings, and campuses
- Serve as one of the primary Worship Leaders for gatherings based on gifting, ability, and need
- Ensure that Worship Team members are regularly connected with, cared for, and empowered to engage in the ministry and the church
- Ensure that Worship team members are equipped and resourced for their designated roles
- Facilitate the development of leaders within the team
- Facilitate volunteer recruitment initiatives and onboarding strategies
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the ministry
- Supervise and coach the Worship Staff
- Manage the Worship Ministry budget
- Consistently grow in knowledge, understanding, and inspiration in the areas of worship, leadership, and vocational ministry
- Director Responsibilities
- Cast vision for ministry team
- Assess and improve processes periodically
- Review and manage the budget for the ministry team
- Review expense reports of all staff members
- Supervise and coach team members
- Utilize Leadr Platform
- 1:1 meetings with team
- Goal Setting and Annual Reviews of staff team members
- Participate in internship or residency programs
Additional Responsibilities
- Other duties as needed to support the vision and mission of Mosaic Church
- Attend weekly and monthly staff meetings
- Attend the Annual Staff Retreat
Preferred Qualifications
(Education, Experience, Skills & Abilities)
- Formal Education or Equivalent Ministry Training
- Minimum 5 years of Worship Ministry experience
- Staff management/oversight experience preferred
- Multi-site church experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of or ability to learn Planning Center Online
- Skills and abilities to serve/lead within the worship team
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Ability to give and receive feedback and constructive criticism
- Ability to listen, assist, coach and support the needs of ministry staff & volunteers
- Strong understanding of and ability to counsel with the gospel
- Humble, servant-hearted approach to the job
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to teach is a plus
- Attention to detail, organized and a self-starter
- Ability to prioritize ministry needs
- Basic knowledge of technology & production is a plus
