Facilities Custodian

Operations / Winter Garden, FL / Full Time

The Mosaic Facilities Custodian role is responsible for the cleaning and light maintenance of Mosaic to support the mission of Mosaic as a whole, and to ensure the building is clean and ready for the execution of all ministry endeavors. The outcome of this position will be a delightful experience for our staff, congregation, and ministry partners, anytime they occupy the building.

Ministry Classification & Reporting:

  • Full Time, Exempt
  • Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm (varying hours for evening ministry operations)
  • Sunday Deployment
  • On-Site, On call
  • Reports to Director of Operations

Scope of Work

  • Under the leadership of the Director of Operations and in partnership with the Facilities Manager, ensure the facility is clean and ready to support ministry activities according to the vision and values of Mosaic Church as a whole.
  • Execute the interior cleaning of the entire Mosaic facility in line with Mosaic Staff values but particularly, the Values of “Surprise & Delight” and “Aspire to Excellence”, ensuring the facility is immaculate for Sunday Gatherings.
  • Execute the interior cleaning of the entire Mosaic facility in line with Mosaic Staff values but particularly, the Values of “Surprise & Delight” and “Aspire to Excellence”, ensuring the facility is immaculate for weekly non-Sunday gatherings and special events both led by and hosted at Mosaic Church to include, but not limited to: Student Ministry, Young Adults, weekly groups, Bible studies, Celebrations of Life etc. 
  • Keep the Facilities Manager informed of inventory needs through the Upkeep management software.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check
  • Embody Mosaic Staff Values 
  • Participate regularly in worship gathering of Mosaic
  • Attend weekly and monthly staff meetings
  • Attend Annual Staff Retreat

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
  • The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience performing the janitorial upkeep of a large facility
