Care Communities are the lifeblood of our Vulnerable, Foster and Adoptive Families. They are a small group of people paired with our families to support them in a uniquely personal and extremely impactful way. Care Communities lighten their family’s load by sharing tasks like providing weekly meals, transportation, respite care, laundry, yard work, and so much more.
It is a privilege and honor to serve the Foster, Adoptive, and Safe Families and hear their stories so we can celebrate with them and support them in difficult times. Journeying with the at-risk and biological families seeking to reunify has been a blessing to watch God restore and redeem families.
I am currently a Team Leader for an incredible Care Community. We support an adoptive family. As a mom of 3 kids under 4 years old, I am so thankful for the opportunity this gives me to contribute in the midst of the chaos that is our life.
The support of our Care Community has been invaluable and we truly don’t know what we would have done without them. We are so thankful to be part of a church family that reflects the heart of Christ as they care for widows and orphans.
We've had the immense privilege of hosting three beautiful kiddos through Safe Families as well as walking alongside a foster family as part of their Care Community. It's a blessing to have these opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
When a family is in crisis, parents and caretakers experience an enormous amount of stress and kids can become vulnerable to neglect and abuse. Through the Safe Families ministry, volunteer Host Families offer loving care to parents, watching over their children for a temporary amount of time (anywhere from a night to several months) while the parents regain stability.
Vulnerable biological parents in this parenting class receive support and mentoring which helps put in place protective factors to prevent their children from being removed from the home.
Children and teens in foster care have gone through the traumatic experience of being removed from their homes by the state because their parents or family guardians are unable to provide the care they need. This happens for many reasons. Whether due to the hardship of poverty, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental illness, or other challenges, homes are fragile and often just a step away from becoming unsafe spaces for kids to live and grow in.
By stepping into foster care, you give these families time and space to overcome these obstacles so their children can, hopefully, return to a healthier home and, in the interim, have a sense of security, structure, and belonging.

Adoption is a beautiful way God can use us to care for vulnerable children. To say that it can be challenging, though, is an understatement.
The adoption journey requires moments upon moments of hope, patience, endurance, forgiveness, and growth for parents and kids alike. It asks more of you when you feel like you have nothing more to give. However, as healthy families come together through adoption, God is glorified as the redeeming nature of His Kingdom is displayed and loving relationships and a renewed story become a reality for kids in our community and around the world.
