This Week’s Gathering: Flourish | The Gospel: Good News

The gospel is the revealed mystery of how God, through the sacrifice of His one and only son, has conquered sin and death to liberate us from the emptiness of its suffocating clutches.

The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus has broken the back of darkness and given us an open invitation into a never-ending Kingdom of light, where we get to share wholly in the grand story of God restoring the world to Himself for his glory. In this good news, we have life that cannot be lost or destroyed.

Find daily Flourish series devotionals and resources here.

This week's gathering is ASL and Spanish translated.

Lemonade Stand

We are using a lemonade stand theme this month to welcome in the warmer days and introduce preschoolers to the amazing truth that God loves them. We want preschoolers to know that God has put a lot of planning and creating and love into each one of them. And, just like you can’t separate the water from the sugar from the lemon juice once you mix them, NOTHING can separate us from God’s love.

So, think a lot of love and a little lemon—mix it all together, and we will get an entire month of God loves me!

God Made & Loves Me

Story Focus: God made me, and He loves me. We will jump into the month talking about how much thought and planning God put into making each of us. People are God’s most special creation. And, each one of us is unique. There is no one like us in the whole world. How awesome would it be for every preschooler to believe that they are wonderfully made by God in His image? So awesome! And, because God made us, He loves us.

Unstuck: Don't Give Up

This month we’re exploring the connection between determination and God’s character, as shown through God’s big story. Determination is deciding it’s worth it to finish what you started.

Keep Going

We start off the month in Matthew 28:16-20, Luke 24:50-53, and Acts 1:1-11 as we help kids discover more about the final moments of Jesus’ life on earth. Before He went back to His Father, Jesus gave His disciples a huge mission: tell the world about Him. The message of Jesus was for everyone, and it was their job to get the word out.

Bottom Line: Keep going even when it seems impossible. A lot can seem impossible to a kid. From learning to tie their shoes to reading paragraphs out loud in class to memorizing those multiplication facts, kids will face all sorts of moments when they feel like everything is too hard, too big, or too long to finish. But that’s where God comes in. We pray that kids will start to understand that no matter what they face— impossible or not—they can trust God to help them through it.

Upside Down

This month we’re exploring the connection between determination and God’s character, as shown through God’s big story. Determination is deciding it’s worth it to finish what you started.

Keep Going

Key Question: What seems impossible to you? What seems impossible is often in the eye of the beholder. Preteens face all sorts of things throughout their week that feel impossible to them, from homework to extracurricular activities to something happening in their home life. As preteens start to identify what seems impossible to them, we pray they’ll also discover how they can trust God, keep going, and finish what they start.

Let Us Abide

In this time while we’re not able to be physically together, we’ll be sharing encouragements, prayers, short teachings, and devotionals throughout every week on on Instagram and Facebook as well as on our website.

We know that all of us are experiencing quite a shift from our regular weekly rhythms, but the rhythm of abiding in Jesus—following His way, truth, and life—remains. And in doing so, we find He is our anchor in all times, always drawing us in closer towards Him and others.

Let’s not stop fearlessly pressing into abiding in Him individually and as a community in every moment. He pulls great purpose and beauty out of all seasons, leading us in every step.
