This Week’s Gathering: Easter

The empty grave marks generations of hope fulfilled. While Jesus' life and death demonstrated that He would not stand by to allow us to perish without hope in the circumstances of our fractured world, his resurrection gives us hope for a future beyond this life where death does not get the final word.

In the resurrected Christ, we echo the words of Paul, "Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" - 1 Corinthians 15:55

This week's gathering is ASL and Spanish translated.

Jesus is Alive

Story Focus: Jesus is alive! Next is the most important thing we will ever share with preschoolers. It is the reason we follow Jesus and can truly be friends with Him forever. Jesus said He would go away but He would come back. Then He died. Jesus’ friends were so very sad. But on the third day, Jesus did come back, just like He said He would! This day is all about the truth that Jesus is alive!

Jesus Rescued Us

For week two, we celebrate Easter. We’ll see through John 18:12–20:23, how Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection makes it possible for us to have a forever relationship with God. Jesus humbly gave Himself for us as the ultimate sacrifice to rescue us from the consequences of our sin.

Bottom Line: Jesus put us first. This is what Easter is all about. Jesus put us first. He gave up everything He deserved to rescue us from the consequences of sin. Jesus conquered death and is alive! We hope that kids leave with a clearer understanding of how much God loves us and wants to have a relationship with us through His Son.

Jesus Rescued Us

Key Question: What does Easter mean to you? Easter is more than chocolate bunnies and egg hunts, but for some kids they’re just starting to realize this for themselves. We hope this question sparks some great discussion in Small Group about why Easter is so important to our faith. We get to really celebrate Jesus and grow in our relationship with Him.

Let Us Abide

In this time while we’re not able to be physically together, we’ll be sharing encouragements, prayers, short teachings, and devotionals throughout every week on on Instagram and Facebook as well as on our website.

We know that all of us are experiencing quite a shift from our regular weekly rhythms, but the rhythm of abiding in Jesus—following His way, truth, and life—remains. And in doing so, we find He is our anchor in all times, always drawing us in closer towards Him and others.

Let’s not stop fearlessly pressing into abiding in Him individually and as a community in every moment. He pulls great purpose and beauty out of all seasons, leading us in every step.
