We are using a lemonade stand theme this month to welcome in the warmer days and introduce preschoolers to the amazing truth that God loves them. We want preschoolers to know that God has put a lot of planning and creating and love into each one of them. And, just like you can’t separate the water from the sugar from the lemon juice once you mix them, NOTHING can separate us from God’s love.
So, think a lot of love and a little lemon—mix it all together, and we will get an entire month of God loves me!
WEEK 1 Story Focus: God made me, and He loves me. We will jump into the month talking about how much thought and planning God put into making each of us. People are God’s most special creation. And, each one of is unique. There is no one like us in the whole world. How awesome would it be for every preschooler to believe that they are wonderfully made by God in His image? So awesome! And, because God made us, He loves us.
WEEK 2 Story Focus: God loves me and has a plan for me. Week two, a young girl named Esther will show us that because God loves us, He has a plan for us. No matter how hard things get or how wrong things seem, we can trust God’s plan and know that in His time, He will use our situation for good. God had a plan for Esther, and He has a plan for us too.
WEEK 3 Story Focus: God loves me no matter what. Week three, we will hear a story told by Jesus. In this story, a son leaves his father to go and do things his own way. The son makes a lot of wrong choices, but the father never stops loving him. In fact, when the son returns, instead of punishing his son, the father throws a huge party! That’s how much the father loved the son. Jesus wants us to know that God loves us even more than the father loved the son. God loves us no matter what!
WEEK 4 Story Focus: God loves me and sent Jesus to be my friend forever. During week four, preschoolers will hear just how much God loves us. He loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to be our friend forever. That’s a very big love!
WEEK 5 Story Focus: God loves me, and I am special to Him. We will finish the month with a story Jesus told about a woman who stopped everything to search for a lost coin. While our preschoolers practice their counting, they will learn how much God loves them. Jesus told this story to help us understand that because God loves us so much, He wants us to be with Him, always.
Our prayer is that every preschooler will walk away knowing that God made them and God loves them. And NOTHING will ever change that!
