Who is the Holy Spirit?

Start & End Date: August 25th– September 29th

Day & Time of Meeting: Tuesdays 6:30pm-8:00pm

Teacher: Aimee Taylor

Online or In-Person: In-Person with Zoom option

In John 14, Jesus told His disciples that when he left them that the Father would send a Helper.

‘If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.’ (John 14:16-17)

With the start of the church, recorded in Acts, we see that Jesus never expected us to walk as His followers through life without this Advocate of the Holy Spirit. And yet, who the Spirit is and His role in our very hearts, minds, and lives can be unclear to us—even years into our journey of following Jesus.

In this class, we’ll learn about who the Holy Spirit is according to Scripture, the gifts He gives to everyone who follows Jesus, and explore what it means to listen to His voice and obey with courage, wisdom, and passion—ultimately living as someone who walks in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16).

Currently Full.

Day & Time of Meeting: Tuesdays 6:30pm-8pm

Teacher: Lexi Bozarth, Mosaic Discipleship Coordinator

The Bible is clear that God calls us as followers of Him to show hospitality (Heb. 13:2, 1 Peter 4:9, Rom. 12:13, etc). Often we think of this as the ability to throw a good dinner party or put up with a friend in need for the night, but it goes much deeper than that—it is powerfully displayed in our spirit as a reflection of Jesus and can be felt by others around us. Join us as we explore through Scripture what it looks like to be welcoming, inviting, safe, and engaging to others from the very core of who we are as a man or woman in Christ.

This class will include teachings, hands-on learning, and lots of group discussion.

*COVID-19 NOTE: Due to the nature of this class, mask wearing will be optional at your table (please wear in the building, and in the room when not at your table). We will have light refreshments and lots of group discussion – making mask wearing quite difficult. If you are immune-compromised, please let us know. It would be our pleasure to take extra precaution for your safety and place you at a table that meets your needs. Please send an email to lexib@thisismosaic.org with any specific requests or concerns. (All information subject to change)
