Trauma can come in many different forms for children, whether it’s a child with a special need, in the foster care system, or coping with divorced parents. This class is designed to train educators, small group leaders, parents or anyone who works with children on how to best care for care for children from traumatic backgrounds. Our hope is that you will leave with practical tools on how to speak and care for children from hard places.

Trauma Informed Care refers to a structure and framework that involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma.  TBRI® is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. While the intervention is based on years of attachment, sensory processing, and neuroscience research, the heartbeat of TBRI® is connection.
