This course will introduce and familiarize you with the effective principles of Trust-Based Relational Intervention. TBRI® is a map of relational principles designed to help parents and caretakers build healthy relationships with children from hard places. It uses Empowering, Connecting, and Correcting Principles to help you address your child’s complex physical and attachment needs, while disarming fear-based behaviors that were developed during adverse experiences. You will learn about the ACE’s (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and how protective strategies can build stronger families and communities.
This is a great tool not just for parents, caretaker and teachers of children from hard places, but also for those of us who parent, teach, or volunteer with typical children, teens, or even young adults. God created us in and for relationship, which means healthy transformation of the mind can only happen through that avenue. Being trauma-informed helps equip you to enter into and continue to grow healthy relationships with children and young people from all kinds of backgrounds and experiences.
