The Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE) is a simulation that offers its participants a glimpse into the lives of low-income individuals and families living in our very own community.
COPE uses the real stories of families impacted by poverty to allow you to personally capture their experience and help you build a better understanding of the reality of countless men, women and children in our city—beyond the stereotypes of what we see on the news or read about in the paper. Also captured in the experience is the role that the broader community plays in their interactions with under-resourced families.
All of our Mosaic staff went through COPE this past year and walked away changed. Which is why we are grateful to be offering this opportunity to the rest of our church so that we, as a community, can gain a deeper understanding of the impact of poverty on our neighbors in Winter Garden, Clermont, Orlando and beyond.
