This Week's Lesson

At Mosaic Kids, we believe that God's Word is for kids today, impacting their lives now. While we aren't currently able to host our Mosaic Kids Sunday gatherings, if you're able, we would love for you to join us as a family in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings, engaging in worship and God's worth together. (Activity packets for kids will be available for all families to pick up before entering the sanctuary.)

You can also continue to find the weekly Mosaic Kids Lesson videos (full of worship, a lesson, and familiar faces) right here every week. We encourage you to watch these with your kids and use them to jumpstart memorable Gospel moments and conversations throughout the rest of the week!

Little Kids: Teaching & Resources (2-5 years old)

Ice Cream Sundae

We have been reminded over the past several months just how important it is to believe that God has a plan for me. Our world has changed. Everything we had planned changed. Hurt, disappointment, fear, loss, sickness… all of it has left us wondering, what will happen next? And, while we won’t ever truly know what will happen next in any given situation, God does, because God has a plan for you, and God has a plan for me.

This month, we are going to use the super sweet theme of Ice Cream Sundae, along with the life of Joseph, to teach preschoolers that God has a plan for them. When we put all of the parts of Joseph’s story together—just as with an ice cream sundae—it gives us a sweet reminder that we can trust that God has a plan for me, and it is always best. We just have to wait until God is done putting all of the parts together.

God’s Plan is Best.

Story Focus: God’s plan is always best. In our final week, we see Joseph’s brothers make their way to Egypt to look for food. They have no idea that they are going to find so much more than food when they get there. They find a brother and forgiveness waiting on them. And, we have the privilege of seeing the end of the story—that God’s way is always best.

Just as it was with Joseph, trusting in God’s plan is what empowers us to keep going when things are hard. If we were to take away one part of Joseph’s story and just focus on it, it would be hard to believe that God’s plan is always best. But, when we put all of the parts of Joseph’s story together—just as with an ice cream sundae—it gives us a sweet reminder that we can trust that God has a plan for me, and it is always best. We just have to wait until God is done putting all of the parts together.

Our hope this month is that preschoolers will begin to understand that God loves them, and He has a plan for them—a plan they can trust is always best, no matter what.

The Garden & City: Teaching & Resources (Kindergarten - 4th Grade)

Block Party

This month we explore the connection between friendship and God’s character, as shown through God’s big story. Friendship is using your words and actions to show others your care.

Friends Forgive One Another.

We finish up the month in John 21:1-19 with an incredible moment between Jesus and Peter. After denying Jesus three times, Peter was feeling guilty and ashamed. But Jesus still had plans for Peter. Jesus forgave Peter and restored the broken friendship. And when we put our faith in Jesus, Jesus offers that same forgiveness to us. In turn, we can offer forgiveness to others.

Bottom Line: Friends forgive one another. As kids learn about God’s incredible forgiveness through Jesus, we pray they start to understand more about how they can forgive their own friends. It’s not just accepting an apology and saying it’s alright. We pray that kids will understand how they can forgive others and work to rebuild the friendships that are worth saving.

Friends Forgive One Another.

Key Question: How do you react when a friend hurts you? While it’d be great if friends got along all the time, it’s just not the way it is. People in our lives will hurt us. How we respond is important. Jesus forgives us so much; we should work towards forgiving others. We pray that kids will understand what forgiveness can look like for their relationships.
